But you still don’t know if this is the life for you.
You don’t know what it feels like to stand a night watch in the middle of the Atlantic, 600 miles from land, with nothing but stars and the hum of a diesel doing its quiet work. You don’t know how you sleep at sea, how the boat moves in a beam swell, how the galley functions when the weather turns.

What a Sustainable Expeditions Demo Trip Gives You
We operate our LRC58 as a world-travelling demonstrator — following a publicly announced multi-year circumnavigation itinerary. At each stage of the voyage, we open up to up to four guests for short passages of one to three days (or longer, by arrangement).
This is not a charter holiday. There is no chef, no cocktail hour, no yacht uniform. This is a working ocean passage on a serious passagemaker, with a commercially licensed skipper who is also the owner, designer-enthusiast, and future-of-passagemaking evangelist.
You will:
- Helm the boat — including in open-water conditions with wind and swell
- Stand watches — and understand what passage-making really means over 24 hours
- See every system up close — propulsion, electrical, navigation, stabilisation, anchoring, water-making
- Ask everything — build costs, operating costs, maintenance realities, insurance, flag state, itinerary planning, provisioning — nothing is off the table
- Experience the pilothouse in the rain — and the cockpit when the sun comes out
- Eat, sleep, and live aboard — simple, wholesome, real

The route is planned years in advance and published on this website. You know exactly where the boat will be and when. You book your flights, you join the boat at the next port, you sail the leg, you fly home with a completely different basis for your decision.

Guests make their own travel arrangements to the departure port. All trips are subject to weather and sea conditions — safety is always the priority. No previous sailing experience required. Basic sea fitness recommended.
